# ALT Image Writer GUI prototypes

This workspace contains two independent interfaces for `alt-rootfs-installer`:

- `crates/flasher-gtk` — GTK 4/libadwaita
- `crates/flasher-qt` — Qt 6/KDE Kirigami

Both are interface previews. They inspect supported boards and removable drives, but do not write to any device.

## System dependencies

On ALT Linux:

sudo apt-get install gcc-c++ libgtk4-devel libadwaita-devel \
  qt6-base-devel qt6-declarative-devel kf6-kirigami
```

The Qt crate uses the maintained CXX-Qt bindings and contains no handwritten C++. Its interface is QML using KDE's Kirigami framework. `.cargo/config.toml` selects Qt 6 explicitly on systems that also have Qt 5 installed.

## Build

Build both applications:

```sh
cargo build
```

Build or run one interface:

```sh
cargo build -p flasher-gtk
cargo build -p flasher-qt

cargo run -p flasher-gtk
cargo run -p flasher-qt
```
